This is Netball

The 2019 Netball World Cup is being hosted in Liverpool.

From 12-21 July the world's top teams come together for an
intense tournament, displaying amazing teamwork, tactics and skills.

England's Gold Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games saw interest in the sport surge.

130,700 women started playing netball or played more netball as a result of the England team's performance in the Gold Coast.

Participation levels are also at an all-time high with 1.4 million women and girls taking to courts across the country in a typical week during the netball season.

Netball is the most popular team
sport for women in the UK

In 2018, more than 47,000 people participated in one of the Netball programmes specially tailored to people of different ages, experiences and backgrounds.

Netball's image is changing. Far from being seen exclusively as a traditional school sport, more people are watching Super League matches and international tournaments and see it as a fast paced, exciting dynamic, team sport with some amazing role models.

Importantly, Netball remains a friendly and welcoming sport that empowers women and girls from all walks of life to keep fit and forge friendships.
